On Marriage

Joel Stein, "Anything Gwyneth Can Do..." Time April 14, 2014, on staying together: "It turns out that part of what keeps a marriage going is the pretense that it always will."

This spoke to me because so much of marriage is effort, is meeting halfway (or going all the way), is working together or working towards the same goals when apart. It's deciding that the marriage is important, and working to keep it that way.
